Sorry for the unwarned, prolonged, deafeningly silence, I have a very legitimate reason: my boyfriend of two years came to visit for two weeks after being apart for three months. So while he vacationed in California, I stay-cationed and well, that meant less blogging and more movie watching. Lo siento mis lectores. BUT, just because I wasn’t posting doesn’t mean I wasn’t brainstorming, planning and bookmarked.
Prepared to be inundated.
I keep what’s called a commonplace book, a practice that became prominent in early modern Europe. As reported by Wikipedia:
“Such books were essentially scrapbooks filled with items of every kind: medical recipes, quotes, letters, poems, tables of weights and measures, proverbs, prayers, legal formulas. Commonplaces were used by readers, writers, students, and humanists as an aid for remembering useful concepts or facts they had learned. Each commonplace book was unique to its creator’s particular interests.”
Among the things in my commonplace book is a list of movies I want to see (as well as one of movies I have seen, but that’s not quiet as interesting or relevant to today’s post). Current movie I really want to see: The Romantics, which comes out September 10th. I have a serious soft spot for overly dramatic romantic comedies. Case in point: I own three seasons of Dawson’s Creek.
AND Katie Holmes is in The Romantics.
AND this has similar themes to another great movie The Big Chill.
AND the new J.Crew ads feature the cast (I kinda really love J.Crew).
Plus, you really can’t go wrong with Adam Brody. I love that man. In The Land of Women was fifteen different kinds of horrific on all kinds of levels, BUT he was still hilarious.
Probability of me dragging Nathan to this movie: slim. I don’t really care.
I leave for Toronto in 6 Days. The prospect of school makes me gleeful. PLUS- my apartment got new floors. There is so much to be excited about these days.
