Blast From The Past

I seem to remember having a pair of these exact sandals in white when I was about, oh, NINE. But that is not a bad thing. Remember that time I wrote about those red and gold sparkly ModCloth flats? And how they reminded me of the good ole days? Well I am now a proud owner of a pair of those and seriously get compliments on them constantly. They are pretty much my favorites.

This little blast from the past could be the same thing. Their practicality calls to me. Incidentally, they are also from ModCloth.

After going to TCAF (Toronto Comic Arts  Festival) a couple of weeks ago, I’ve found some really lovely illustrators. One being Vera Brosgol (art featured above), partner in crime to Emily Carrol. They have a blog together called Fashion from Old People where they  illustrate vintage and antique dresses from various corners of the internet. I love it! I want more.

I leave for home in two weeks, one day.  California countdown officially on.

The Enchantress of Numbers

Happy Ada Lovelace day!

“Who?” you ask.

The only legitimate daughter of Lord Byron that’s who!

No, but more importantly, Ada Lovelace is considered to be the one of worlds first computer programmers for her notes on Charles Babbage’s analytical engine, which included the first algorithm intended to be processed by a machine.

She was one smart broad and for that I commemorate her.
