I don’t even really wear dresses since I’m uncomfortable and cold if it’s  not warmer than 85 degrees outside, but these are rather nice and very cardign-able. I’m super into the antique floral prints right now, but I can’t say that I like the one on the left more than the one on the right. I like both!

also, it’s totally unacceptable to wear a dress that see-through sans undershirt/ bra, right? I remember the first (and so far only) time I went to Paris there was a very French looking girl parading around the Champs- Elysees bra-less in a gauzy white button up shirt with two just big enough black pockets covering her nipples. My 18-year-old self was a little envious of her brazenness.  Very Parisian, non? I’m definitely not that kind of Parisian.

Design Sponge

Do you know Design Sponge? I feel like I’ve talked about them here before. I pretty much think that Grace Bonney is the awesome-est of awesome and would really like to have her job. I got the Design Sponge book for Christmas and looooove it.

Every week or so, Design Sponge has this reoccurring column called “living in,” where they do a little feature on products that reflect the mood/aesthetic of different movies. They’ve done Twin Peaks and Almost Famous, Downton Abbey and White Christmas.

This week it’s “Living In: Atonement,” one of my favorite books/ movies. I remember seeing Atonement in theaters with my aunt and when it got to the end (I’m not going to spoil it, you’ll have to see it yourself), I bawled my eyes out.  It’s a really lovely movie and I really like the spread Design Sponge did.

That dress is gorgeous, no?

Kate Spade

I’m not typically the biggest fan of Kate Spade. One of my best friends works there and another worships them, but I’ve never really gotten it. As my mom would say, they can be a little “twee” for my taste. I also find some of their purses really boxy and plasticine looking. I don’t enjoy hard leathers. That being said, I’m floored by their new collection and hate them for being so freakin expensive.

Some of my favorites:

I will promise you my first born child if you give me that purse with the bow.  This little shopping spree would cost me about four months in rent. It is a cruel world.

Apparently last week was photo montage week and this week is fashion pining week, ah well.

Also, is Gap in financial trouble? They seem to constantly be having a sale.

Whoops

Op! Did you hear that? that was me, dropping the blogger ball yet again.  Ah well.

I’m going to make it up to you, okay? Next week is winter week! When I first moved to Toronto from California, I was so excited to live in my first place with snow, but I knew absolutely nothing about it. I didn’t really know that I knew nothing about it, but looking back I was pretty clueless. Now, however, I am older, wiser and have FINALLY after THREE winters have mastered the cold. How you might ask? Well you’ll just have to wait and see.

For now, have a lovely weekend, and what do you think of this ensemble

I’m pretty much IN LOVE with that dress. BUT I feel like I’m too young to wear it. Does that make sense?

Black and White Stripes.

I don’t know about you, but I definitely fall into the category of “bargain hunter.” I want what I want at the price I want.

Is this maybe a wee bit demanding? Yes. But rarely do I buy something that I don’t wear and later regret. I am not in any way an “impulse buyer.” Purchasing my first home will be an interesting experience.

This dress, breaking the small student budget at $87.26,  is completely lovely. This is where it becomes difficult. Lovely yes, but worth $87.26? Which is effectively two weeks of food? I won’t even be able to wear it for at least another four months. For now, until I win the lottery, I’ll admire from afar.
